Building a Mob Museum Wall Using Spawn Eggs as Labels
Plan the Wall Before You Place Anything
Because every egg now shows a face, a row of eggs in item frames works as a visual index of your mob collection. Decide on a grid size first — one column per mob family, one row per variant — so you do not end up rearranging frames later.
Placing and Lighting
1. Place item frames on a flat wall, leaving one block of space between rows so the faces are not crowded.
2. Put the egg for each mob in the frame directly above or beside its enclosure.
3. Light the wall from the front, not from above. Faces are small textures, and top-down light leaves the eyes in shadow, which defeats the purpose.
4. Use a dark or neutral wall block behind the frames. Busy blocks like stone bricks compete with the face detail.
Keeping It Useful
Group by dimension or by biome so visitors can walk the wall in the same order they would encounter the mobs. If you run a server, put the eggs for mobs you have not captured yet in a separate 'missing' row — it doubles as a checklist. Avoid putting eggs in frames near redstone lamps that flicker, since rapid light changes make the small faces hard to read.
