Effortless Crafting Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I start using Effortless Crafting?
Open your crafting table normally—the mod works automatically without any setup. Place containers (chests, barrels, etc.) nearby your crafting table, and the mod will detect them within reach. Start crafting as usual, and ingredients will be pulled from nearby storage instead of requiring you to manually stock your inventory.
What containers does the mod pull from?
The mod pulls from any storage container within reach of your character, including chests, barrels, shulker boxes, and other inventory blocks. The exact range depends on your position relative to the crafting table and containers, but generally covers a practical working area around you.
How do I queue multiple crafts at once?
Hold the modifier key (configurable, often Shift or Ctrl) and scroll your mouse wheel up or down while hovering over a recipe in the crafting grid. Scrolling up increases the quantity, scrolling down decreases it. Release the key and click to craft the entire queued amount.
What is chain crafting and how does it work?
Chain crafting automatically crafts intermediate components from raw materials in the correct order until your final product is complete. For example, if you request wooden planks from logs, the mod will craft the planks first, then use those to make your target item—all without manual intervention.
Can I craft unstackable items in bulk?
Yes, the mod handles bulk crafting of unstackable items (like tools or armor) by queuing multiple craft cycles. The crafted items are automatically placed into your hotbar and inventory as space allows, letting you mass-produce items that normally stack to 1.
Why isn't the mod pulling ingredients from my chests?
Check that your containers are within reach of your crafting table position and that they're not blocked by walls or obstacles. Also verify the containers actually contain the ingredients you need—the mod can only pull what's available. If containers are too far away, move them closer or move your crafting table.
Does this mod work with modded recipes?
Yes, Effortless Crafting works with recipes from other mods as long as they use the standard crafting table. Custom crafting tables or specialized recipe systems from other mods may not be compatible.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod is designed to be client-side and lightweight, so it shouldn't cause significant performance problems. However, having many containers nearby or crafting very large quantities at once may cause brief delays depending on your system.
Can I disable autocrafting for specific recipes?
The mod pulls ingredients automatically for any recipe you attempt, but you can always craft manually by moving items into your inventory yourself. There isn't a per-recipe toggle, but you can simply avoid using the mod's features for recipes you want to craft traditionally.
Does the mod work in multiplayer or on servers?
Effortless Crafting is a client-side mod, so it works in single-player and on servers that allow client mods. However, ingredient pulling is limited to containers you can access on the server, and some server rules may restrict how the mod functions.
