How to Configure When and Where Effect Descriptions Appear

Opening the Config

Effect Insights is designed to be flexible about when descriptions show. Open the mod's configuration screen through your mod list or the in-game mod menu, then look for the tooltip and display options.

Key Settings to Adjust

• Tooltip location: choose whether descriptions appear on effect icons, on items, or both.
• Show source mod: toggle whether the tooltip includes which mod the effect comes from.
• Show effect ID: toggle whether the internal effect ID is displayed for debugging or reference.
• Formatting: adjust styling options so the description fits naturally with your other tooltips.

After changing a setting, close and reopen your inventory to see the result. If a change does not seem to apply, make sure you saved the config and that no other tooltip mod is overriding the display.

When to Turn Options Off

If your tooltips feel cluttered, disable the source mod and effect ID lines and keep only the plain description. If you only care about active effects and not items, restrict display to effect icons. These toggles let you keep the information you actually use without extra noise.
