How to Change Effect Durations and the Daily Eating Limit in the Config

Finding the Config File

After running the game once with the mod installed, a configuration file is generated in your instance's config folder. Open it with any plain text editor. The mod is described as minimalistic and configurable, so the options are few and clearly named.

Editing the Values

Look for the duration settings for each effect. The glow effect and the other effects have separate duration values by default, and you can change each one to whatever length you prefer. Save the file and reload the game (or the world, depending on your setup) for the changes to apply.

For the daily limit, you will find two related options:

  • maxItemUsesPerDaySingleItem — the maximum number of a single item a player can eat before the Weakness effect triggers. Setting it to -1 disables the limit for that item.
  • maxItemUsesPerDayTotal — the maximum total number of edible items a player can eat before Weakness triggers. Setting it to -1 disables this total limit.

If you want unlimited eating with no Weakness penalty, set both values to -1. If you want a strict survival balance, lower the single-item value so players cannot chain-eat one ingredient for endless buffs. Remember the values have a defined minimum and maximum range, so stay within those bounds.
