How to Avoid the Weakness Penalty When Eating Edibles
Why You Get Weakness
The mod tracks how many edible items you consume. Once you pass the
configured daily limit, further eating gives you a Weakness effect instead of the normal buff. This is meant to stop players from spamming cheap ingredients for permanent buffs.
Practical Ways to Stay Under the Limit
- Spread out your eating. If you only need a buff occasionally, you will rarely hit the cap. Save Blaze Powder for a tough fight and Sugar for a long run rather than eating them constantly.
- Mix your ingredients. There is a separate limit for each individual item and a separate limit for the total number of items. If the single-item limit is the problem, switching to a different ingredient can keep you going a little longer — but watch the total limit too.
- Check your config. The default single-item limit is generous, but if you or your server admin lowered it, you will hit Weakness much sooner. Raising it (or setting it to -1) removes the penalty entirely.
- Time your buffs. Since effects are short, eating one right before you need it means you use fewer items overall than eating them speculatively.
If you are on a server, the limits are set by the server's config, so ask the admin if you want them changed. On singleplayer, you control the file yourself.
