How do I unlock my first power?

What's the difference between powers and awakenings?
Powers are your base abilities that you unlock and upgrade through the skill tree. Awakenings are the final, most powerful forms of those abilities that you unlock by reaching certain milestones, dealing massive damage and visual effects.
How do I create hybrid powers with 
Fusion Catalyst?
Use the Fusion Catalyst item to combine two different unlocked powers into a brand-new hybrid ability. Check your skill tree or ability interface to see which power combinations are available for fusion.
