Why Echo Pickaxe Helps in the Nether

Ancient Debris is rare and dangerous to find because it hides deep in netherrack surrounded by lava and hostile mobs. The Echo Pickaxe reveals its location through solid blocks, letting you plan safe routes before exposing yourself.

Finding Ancient Debris

1. Equip a supported pickaxe and bring Echo Shards

2. Mine any Nether ore block (Nether Quartz or Nether Gold work well)

3. The echo wave will highlight Ancient Debris blocks nearby, showing them through netherrack walls

4. For faster detection, use Sonar Pulse (press V) to scan a large area at once

5. Once you see glowing Ancient Debris outlines, plan a safe mining path that avoids lava

Safety Tips

Don't rush toward glowing ore. Use the highlight to identify where Ancient Debris is located, then carefully mine toward it with proper precautions—bring water, armor, and tools. The echo shows you what's there, but you still need to mine safely. If Enchantment Requirements are enabled in your config, ensure your pickaxe meets those conditions before echoes will work.
