Find Diamond Ore Efficiently Using Echo Waves

Basic Echo Wave Mining

The simplest way to locate diamonds is to mine any ore block you encounter while caving or strip mining. When you break an ore, the mod sends out an echo wave that highlights all matching ore types in nearby walls and stone blocks.

Steps:

1. Hold any supported pickaxe (check your Pickaxe Whitelist settings if echoes aren't triggering)

2. Mine an ore block—any ore will work as a trigger

3. Look around the broken block; nearby diamond ore will glow with a visible outline

4. Follow the glow to locate hidden diamonds behind walls

5. The highlight lasts for a set duration before fading

Maximizing Your Search

To find diamonds faster, mine ore blocks frequently as you explore. Each broken ore sends a new pulse, so continuous mining creates constant scans. If you have Echo Shards available, use the Sonar Pulse (default key V) for a wider, instant scan of all nearby ores at once—this is especially useful when you're stationary or preparing a mining operation.

Adjust your Radius & Duration settings in the config menu if you want echoes to travel farther or stay visible longer.
