Configure Echo Activation to Reduce Screen Clutter

Understanding Activation States

By default, the Echo Pickaxe mod may highlight ores constantly, which can clutter your screen during building or other tasks. The Activation State setting lets you control when echoes appear.

Configuration Options:

1. Open the mod's configuration menu

2. Find the Activation State setting

3. Choose from:

• Always: Echoes trigger whenever you mine any ore
• Disabled: Echoes never trigger (you can re-enable anytime)
• Crouch Only: Echoes only appear when you hold Shift and mine

Recommended Setup

For most players, Crouch Only mode is ideal. This keeps your screen clean during normal mining and building, but lets you activate echoes intentionally by crouching before breaking ore blocks. This is especially useful when you're in a cave system and want to focus on one task at a time.

If you're doing dedicated ore hunting, switch Activation State to Always temporarily. When you're done, return it to Crouch Only to avoid visual noise during other activities.
