How to Make Custom Eating Animations Using the Mod's Example Models

The mod ships with example models you can copy and adapt to give any food item its own chewing animation. This is a resource-pack style workflow: you provide a model, and the mod plays it when the item is eaten.

Getting the Example Files

Extract the mod jar (it is a zip) and look inside its assets folder for the example eating-animation models. These are the templates the mod author provides so you can see the expected structure. Copy them out into your own resource pack rather than editing the jar, so updates do not overwrite your work.

Building Your Animation

1. Create a resource pack with the standard pack.mcmeta and assets/<namespace>/ layout.

2. Place your copied model under the correct models path, matching the folder structure the examples use.

3. Rename the model to match the item you want to animate, keeping the namespace consistent with that item's mod.

4. Edit the model's animation data to change how the item moves while being eaten.

5. Enable your resource pack in-game and eat the target food to preview it.

If nothing plays, double-check the file path and namespace first, since a mismatched path is the most common reason a custom animation silently fails to load.
