How to Use Whitelist and Ban Commands on an EasyLAN Server

Command Support in EasyLAN

The mod's Server Command Support section enables the standard vanilla whitelist and ban commands on your LAN server, which are normally awkward to use because a LAN world has no dedicated console. With EasyLAN, you can run these from the in-game chat as the host (with cheats/operator permissions enabled for your world).

Whitelist Commands

  • /whitelist on — enables the whitelist so only listed players may join.
  • /whitelist off — disables it, allowing anyone on the network to connect.
  • /whitelist add <player> — adds a player by name.
  • /whitelist remove <player> — removes a player.
  • /whitelist list — shows who is currently whitelisted.

Ban Commands

  • /ban <player> — bans a player by name.
  • /ban-ip <address> — bans an IP address.
  • /pardon <player> and /pardon-ip <address> — lift a ban.

Practical Tips

Turn the whitelist on before inviting people if you want strict control, since anyone who connects while it is off is not automatically added. Bans persist for the session; if you restart the LAN world you may need to reapply them. Use /whitelist reload if you edit the list externally and want the server to re-read it.
