How do I open the EasyLAN config screen?
Open your singleplayer world to LAN as usual, then click the EasyLAN configuration button that appears on the LAN screen. The config screen only shows up while the LAN server is running, so start the LAN world first.
Does EasyLAN work on a normal server or only LAN worlds?
EasyLAN is built for LAN servers you host from your own PC through the singleplayer 'Open to LAN' option. It does not configure dedicated or rented servers.
Can I change the port after the LAN server is already running?
No, the port is set when the LAN server starts, so you need to stop the LAN world and open it to LAN again with the new port. Change the port in the EasyLAN screen before confirming.
Why can't my friends join my EasyLAN server?
Check that everyone is on the same router or network, that the port you set is open and not blocked by a firewall, and that online mode matches how your friends log in. If online mode is off, only players using the same authentication setup can join.
What does online mode do in EasyLAN?
Online mode verifies players against Mojang's authentication servers, so only legitimate accounts can join. Turning it off lets players connect without account verification, which is useful for offline or cracked setups but less secure.
How do I set a whitelist on my LAN server?
Turn the whitelist on and add players using the whitelist commands supported by the mod, such as adding or removing names. Once enabled, only listed players can join.
How do I ban someone from my EasyLAN server?
Use the ban or ban-ip commands through the server command support to block a player or an IP address. Banned players are kept out until you remove them from the ban list.
Can I change max players above the normal LAN limit?
Yes, EasyLAN lets you set a custom max player count well beyond the default LAN limit. Just enter the number you want in the max players field before starting the server.
Does EasyLAN work with other mods and modpacks?
EasyLAN only changes LAN server configuration, so it generally works alongside other mods and modpacks. All players joining still need the same mods as the host for the world to load correctly.
Does EasyLAN hurt performance or cause lag?
The mod only adjusts server settings and does not add ongoing processing, so it shouldn't affect performance. Any lag you see usually comes from the host PC or the network, not EasyLAN itself.
