How to Make Your Ears Features Visible to Other Players

A frequent confusion is that you added ears but nobody else can see them. Ears is a client-side cosmetic mod, so visibility depends on who is looking.

Why Others May Not See Your Features

Your feature data is embedded in your skin pixels, which the server already distributes to everyone. However, a player only renders your ears, tail, or wings if they have the Ears mod installed on their own client. Vanilla players and players without the mod will simply see your normal skin with the feature pixels ignored. There is no server plugin required for this to work, and nothing to sync.

Confirming It Works

Ask a friend who also runs the mod to look at you, or open a second instance of the game with the mod on the same world. If they see the features and a vanilla client does not, everything is functioning correctly. This is expected behavior, not a bug.

Making It Consistent

Because the data travels inside the skin file itself, anyone who downloads your skin and has the mod will see the same ears you do. That makes Ears a good choice for servers where you cannot install plugins, since the appearance is portable and needs no backend support. Just remember the audience limitation: only modded clients render it.
