How to Fix Ears Not Showing Up After Editing Your Skin
You painted the pixels, applied the skin, and still see a plain player. Work through these checks in order.
Skin File Problems
The single most common cause is the image itself. Ears needs the exact pixel dimensions and intact alpha channel. If your editor saved a JPEG, flattened transparency to white, or resized the canvas, the mod cannot read the feature regions. Re-open the original skin, redo your edits, and export as PNG at the original size. Also make sure you uploaded the correct file to your skin provider and that the game actually refreshed it.
Region and Color Mistakes
Feature data must sit in the correct unused pixel regions for the skin layout you are using. Painting into a region that overlaps your normal skin, or using a color that does not map to a valid feature, results in nothing appearing. Double-check that you are editing the right coordinates and that the colors match a known feature type rather than an arbitrary shade.
Client and Cache Issues
If the file is correct, restart the game so the skin texture reloads, and clear any cached skin if your launcher or provider keeps one. Confirm the mod is actually loaded on your client. Finally, verify with a second modded client, since a vanilla viewer will never show the features regardless of how correct your skin is.
