Dye All The Things Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I dye armor in this mod?
Place your armor piece and dyes in a crafting grid the same way you would dye leather armor—the armor will accept the dye color just like leather does. You can use single dyes or combine multiple dyes to create custom colors.
Can I dye horse armor?
Yes, horse armor can be dyed using the same crafting method as regular armor. Simply combine your horse armor with dyes in the crafting grid to change its color.
What armor types can I dye?
You can dye all standard armor types (diamond, iron, gold, netherite, chainmail, leather) plus horse armor and most modded armors. Some heavily customized modded armors may not be compatible depending on how they're coded.
Do I need the mod on the server?
Yes, the mod must be installed on both the server and client to work properly. If it's only on your client, the dyed armor won't display correctly for other players.
Can I remove dye from armor?
You can re-dye armor with different colors by crafting it with new dyes, but there's no direct way to remove all color—simply apply a new dye color to change the appearance.
Does dyed armor lose its color when I die?
No, the dye is permanent on the armor item itself, so your dyed armor keeps its color even after death and respawn.
Can I dye modded armor from other mods?
Most modded armors can be dyed, but compatibility depends on how the mod coded the armor. Armors that use standard Minecraft armor mechanics will work, while some heavily customized armors may not be compatible.
What happens if I mix multiple dye colors together?
Mixing dyes in the crafting recipe creates a blended color, allowing you to make custom armor colors that aren't available with single dyes. Experiment with different dye combinations to find colors you like.
Does this mod affect armor durability or stats?
No, dyeing armor is purely cosmetic and doesn't change the armor's durability, protection level, or any other stats.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
This mod is lightweight and shouldn't cause noticeable performance problems, as it only adds a simple crafting mechanic without complex rendering or tick updates.
