How do I open the Durability Viewer config menu?
Open the mod list from the pause menu, select Durability Viewer Updated, and click the config button. You can also bind a key in the controls menu to open the in-game settings directly.
Why is my durability HUD not showing up at all?
The HUD is usually hidden when you have no damageable items equipped or in hand, and it can also be toggled off in the config. Check that the display is enabled and that you are holding or wearing something with durability.
What do the durability colors mean?
The number changes color based on how damaged the item is, going from a safe color when nearly full through warning colors as durability drops. When an item is close to full, the mod shows damage taken instead of durability remaining, which makes Mending progress easier to read.
Why does it show damage instead of durability sometimes?
When an item is near full durability, the mod switches to showing how much damage it has taken rather than how much is left. This is intentional so you can watch the number drop toward zero as Mending repairs the item.
How do I stop the HUD from overlapping other mods' displays?
Open the config and change the HUD position, or drag it if the mod supports dragging. You can also adjust the offset values to nudge it away from other overlays.
How do I turn off the sound when my tool is about to break?
Open the config and disable the audio warning, or raise the durability threshold so it only triggers when you want it to. The warning threshold controls when the sound plays relative to remaining durability.
Can I change how many empty inventory slots are shown?
The empty-slot counter is a toggle in the config; you can turn it on or off entirely. Its position is tied to the HUD layout, so move the HUD to reposition it.
Does this mod work with other HUD mods like JEI or inventory tweaks?
It is designed to coexist with other HUD and inventory mods, but overlapping elements can happen if both draw in the same corner. Reposition the Durability Viewer HUD in its config to avoid collisions.
Will this mod hurt my FPS or cause lag?
The mod only reads durability and effect data that the game already tracks, so its performance impact is minimal. If you notice issues, disable the effect timer or empty-slot counter, which are the most frequently updated elements.
Why does the effect timer not show for some potions?
The timer only appears for effects that are currently active on your character and that the mod is configured to display. Check the config to make sure effect tracking is enabled and that the effect type is not filtered out.
