How to Stop Accidentally Breaking Your Tools with GiveFatigue

Breaking a favourite enchanted pickaxe is painful. The GiveFatigue option exists specifically to prevent that by physically stopping you from mining once a tool is nearly spent.

Enabling GiveFatigue

Open the mod's configuration menu and turn GiveFatigue on. It defaults to off, so you must enable it manually. Once active, the mod watches your tool's durability against the configured Percentage threshold. When the tool reaches that limit, you receive Mining Fatigue, which drastically slows your mining speed and gives you a clear signal to stop.

Tuning the Threshold

Because GiveFatigue triggers at the same percentage as your other notifications, adjust the Percentage slider to control how early the effect kicks in. A higher percentage means the fatigue hits sooner, protecting the tool with more durability remaining. A lower percentage lets you keep mining longer but leaves less margin for error.

Server Limitations

GiveFatigue relies on applying a potion effect to the player, which a vanilla server will not accept from a client-side mod. If you play on a vanilla server, this option simply will not fire. In that case, enable PlaySound or SendMessage instead so you still get a warning before the tool breaks. On servers that permit the effect, GiveFatigue is the strongest safeguard available.
