How to Install and Activate the Dungeons Crit Sound Resource Pack

Placing the Pack in the Correct Folder

A resource pack only works if Minecraft can find it. Open your Minecraft installation folder and locate the resourcepacks directory. Drop the Dungeons Crit Sound Resource Pack file (the .zip you downloaded) directly into that folder without unzipping it. If you unzip it, Minecraft will not recognize it as a pack. Once the file is in place, you can leave the folder open or close it — Minecraft reads the folder each time you open the game.

Enabling the Pack In-Game

Launch Minecraft and go to Options → Resource Packs. You will see two columns: Available on the left and Selected on the right. Find the Dungeons Crit Sound Resource Pack in the Available list and click the arrow pointing right to move it to Selected. Make sure it sits above any other packs that also change combat sounds, because higher packs override lower ones. Click Done to apply. You do not need to restart the game — the change takes effect immediately. To verify it is working, find a mob and land a critical hit (jump and attack while falling). You should hear the heavier Dungeons-style impact instead of the vanilla crit sound. If you hear nothing different, check that the pack is actually in the Selected column and not just Available.
