Dungeons And Taverns Woodland Mansion Overhaul Data Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I know the data pack is actually working?
Load a world and run /locate structure minecraft:mansion — if the pack is active, the mansion you find will be the Illager Manor layout instead of the vanilla one. You can also run /locate structure nova_structures:illager_manor to confirm the new structure ID resolves.
Do I need to make a new world for this to work?
No, but only chunks you haven't generated yet will contain Illager Manors. Mansions in already-explored chunks stay as vanilla Woodland Mansions, so travel to fresh terrain or start a new world for the full effect.
Will my Woodland Explorer Map still work?
Yes. Woodland Explorer Maps now point to Illager Manors instead of vanilla mansions, so any map you buy from a cartographer will lead you to the new structure.
Why can't I find a mansion where one used to be?
The pack spawns Illager Manors in the same locations where Woodland Mansions would normally generate, so existing mansions in old chunks aren't replaced. Explore new chunks or use /locate to find a fresh one.
How do I get inside the manor?
Look for the main entrance on the ground floor — the manor is a large multi-room structure, so circling the exterior will reveal doors and windows you can break or enter through. Once inside, the layout branches into small, medium, and large rooms plus an attic and basement.
Is the Evoker guaranteed to spawn?
Yes, the manor guarantees an Evoker spawn, so you can count on at least one Evoker being present. Bring gear to handle Vexes and other Illager mobs that accompany it.
Where are the Allays and the Iron Golem?
They're held in jail cells in the manor's basement. Free the Allays to have them follow you, and be careful around the Iron Golem — it may be hostile depending on how you interact with it.
What are the maps inside the manor for?
Map rooms can contain maps leading to Pillager Outposts or Ancient Cities. Grab them before you leave so you have new exploration targets once you're done looting.
Does this pack conflict with other structure mods or data packs?
It replaces vanilla Woodland Mansions, so any other pack that also overrides minecraft:mansion will conflict — only one will win. Packs that add unrelated structures generally coexist fine, but test in a copy of your world first.
Will the manor hurt my performance?
The Illager Manor is a massive structure with many rooms, an attic, a basement, and garden variations, so it can be heavier to render than a vanilla mansion. If you get lag near it, lower your render distance or avoid loading several manors at once.
