How to Farm Blaze Rods in the Overhauled Fortress

Locating the Guaranteed Blaze Spawner

The mod guarantees at least one blaze spawner per fortress, and additional ones can generate randomly. Head into the interior halls rather than staying on the bridge. The decorated halls and wings are where spawners are placed. Listen for the distinctive blaze sounds and look for the spawner cage surrounded by nether brick. Because extra spawners can appear randomly, it is worth exploring every wing before settling on a farming spot.

Setting Up a Safe Farm

Blazes float and fire in volleys, so build a barrier between you and the spawner. A simple approach is to wall off the spawner with nether brick or any blast-resistant block, leaving a small opening at eye level to hit blazes with a sword or bow. Light the surrounding area so other mobs do not interfere. Bring fire resistance potions in case a blaze gets a clear shot. Snowballs deal damage to blazes, so a stack of snowballs is a cheap backup weapon.

Collecting and Using Drops

Blazes drop blaze rods, which you need for brewing and for crafting eyes of ender. Kill blazes near the spawner and collect drops promptly, since items can fall into lava if the room has any. If you find multiple spawners in one fortress, farm them one at a time rather than standing between two active spawners, which quickly becomes overwhelming.
