Dungeons and Taverns Nether Fortress Overhaul Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I find a Nether Fortress with this mod installed?
Use the command /locate structure minecraft:fortress in the Nether, since the mod replaces the vanilla fortress rather than adding a new structure ID. The located fortress will generate with the overhauled brutalist bridges and decorated halls.
Will I always get a Blaze Spawner in the overhauled fortress?
Yes, at least one Blaze Spawner is always guaranteed to generate. Additional Blaze Spawners can also appear randomly throughout the fortress, so you may find more than one.
Why can't the mod limit the fortress to exactly two Blaze Spawners?
Because of datapack limitations, the mod cannot strictly cap the number of spawners. It guarantees a minimum of one, but random extra spawners may still generate.
Where do I find Magma Cube Spawners in the new fortress?
Magma Cube Spawners are found in the new wings and side halls that branch off the main interior. Explore the stairs and decorated corridors rather than just the bridge.
How do I get to the new rooms and wings inside the fortress?
The interior halls now feature stairs that lead up into the new wings and side rooms. Follow the staircases instead of sticking to the main walkway to reach them.
Where are the custom loot chests in the overhauled fortress?
Custom loot chests generate inside the new decorated halls and rooms added by the overhaul. Search the wings and side chambers rather than only the bridge.
Why does the bridge look different from the vanilla Nether Fortress?
The bridge has been fully redesigned with a more brutalist aesthetic and is slimmer while still keeping the interior walkway. Each bridge piece has its own generation rules, so the layout varies as you travel.
Do I need a new world for the overhauled fortress to appear?
Yes, the mod only affects newly generated chunks, so fortresses in already-explored areas will keep their old layout. Travel to unexplored parts of the Nether or start a fresh world to see the overhaul.
Is this mod compatible with other Nether or structure mods?
It replaces the vanilla fortress structure, so mods that also modify or replace minecraft:fortress may conflict. Mods that add separate structures or unrelated content generally work fine alongside it.
Will the overhauled fortress hurt my performance or cause lag?
The new halls, stairs, and extra spawners add more blocks and entities than a vanilla fortress, so performance can drop if many mobs are active at once. Reducing simulation distance or lighting up spawners you don't need helps keep things smooth.
