Looting Mineshaft Chests and Storage Rooms

Locating Storage Rooms

Storage rooms are dedicated chambers built into the mineshaft layout, separate from the main transit lines and side paths. They're typically found branching off from secondary tunnels and are marked by wooden structures, torches, and often a visible chest. Some storage rooms also contain mob spawners, so approach cautiously.

Looting Strategy

1. Clear mobs first—use a sword or ranged weapon to eliminate any spawned hostiles before opening chests.

2. Check for spawners—if a mob spawner is present in the room, consider disabling it with torches or blocks before looting to prevent respawns.

3. Open all visible chests—storage rooms may contain multiple chests with varying loot.

4. Search the floor and shelves—items sometimes spawn on the ground or on wooden support structures.

5. Bring empty inventory space—mineshaft loot can be plentiful; consider using a double chest or shulker boxes.

Loot varies by mineshaft type and location. Standard mineshafts offer common underground materials, while mountain and mesa variants may contain rarer items. Always bring torches to light rooms fully and prevent mob respawning.
