How to Get the Photosynthesis Enchantment and Use It
What It Does
Jungle Ruins introduce a new enchantment called Photosynthesis. Its effect is that it repairs items while you are in direct sunlight — essentially a slow, passive repair that works as long as the enchanted item is exposed to the sky during the day. This makes it excellent for gear you use constantly outdoors, and useless underground or at night.
Obtaining It
Enchantments from structure loot are usually found rather than crafted. Search the Jungle Ruins thoroughly — the hidden rooms and puzzle-gated areas are the most likely places for enchanted books, and the surrounding custom jungle village houses contain suspicious gravel you should brush for buried loot. Check every chest, including ones tucked behind vines or in side chambers of the labyrinth.
Using It Well
- Apply Photosynthesis to a tool or piece of armor you wear while exploring or building above ground.
- Keep the item equipped and stay in open daylight; the repair only ticks when the item is in direct sun.
- Do not rely on it underground — bring a separate set for cave work, or carry repair materials.
- Combine it with a high-durability item so the slow repair keeps pace with wear.
It is a convenience enchantment, not a replacement for an anvil, so plan around its daylight-only limitation.
