Dungeons and Taverns Jungle Temple Overhaul Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I find a Jungle Ruins in the first place?
Buy a Jungle Explorer Map from a Cartographer villager — you'll need to enable experimental trades for it to appear. The map points you to the nearest Jungle Ruins, which are rare, so expect to travel a fair distance.
Why can't I find any vanilla jungle temples anymore?
This data pack removes all vanilla Jungle Temples from world generation and replaces them with the overhauled Jungle Ruins. If you're in an old world, only newly generated chunks will have the new structure.
Does this data pack work with the regular Dungeons and Taverns mod?
Yes, it's designed to stay compatible with Dungeons and Taverns. You can run both together without conflicts, and the Jungle Ruins will still generate as intended.
What's the best way to survive the traps inside Jungle Ruins?
Move slowly and watch for pressure plates, tripwires, and dispensers before stepping into new rooms. Bringing blocks to bridge over suspicious floors and a shield to block arrows will save you more than armor alone.
What mobs spawn inside the Jungle Ruins?
Bogged spawn naturally inside the structure, and Zombies and Cave Spiders are pre-spawned when it generates. Clear rooms methodically so you don't get swarmed in the labyrinth.
How do I get the Photosynthesis enchantment?
You'll find it through loot or enchanting related to the Jungle Ruins content — check chests and the structure's rewards as you explore. Once applied, it repairs items while you're in direct sunlight.
What does the Photosynthesis enchantment actually do?
It repairs the enchanted item while you're standing in direct sunlight. It won't work underground, at night, or in shade, so plan your repairs around daytime surface time.
Where do I find Suspicious Gravel in the Jungle Village?
Suspicious Gravel is hidden inside the unique houses that surround the Jungle Ruins. Brush it with a brush to reveal loot — check under floors, in corners, and near workstations.
Is the Jungle Ruins labyrinth worth exploring, or should I skip it?
It's worth it — the labyrinth hides rooms, puzzles, and treasure you won't find elsewhere in the structure. Bring torches, food, and a way to mark your path so you don't get lost.
Will this data pack hurt my world's performance?
The structure is large and mob-dense, so expect some lag when you're inside it, especially on lower-end machines. Performance outside the structure is generally unaffected since it only loads when you're nearby.
