Troubleshoot Missing or Rare Drops from Villagers

Why Drops Might Not Appear

Not every villager death guarantees a drop—the mod uses a chance-based system. Additionally, drops depend on what items the villager actually trades.

Debugging Steps

1. Confirm the mod is active: Check your mod list and ensure Droppable Villager Trades is loaded. Look for drops from at least a few villagers to verify the mechanic works.

2. Check villager profession: Unemployed or unspecialized villagers may have limited or no trade inventory, resulting in no drops. Ensure the villager has a profession by placing them near their workstation.

3. Increase sample size: Kill multiple villagers of the same type. With a chance-based system, one or two deaths may not yield drops—try 10+ to see the actual rate.

4. Verify drop collection: Items may be dropping but despawning before you collect them. Use hoppers or stay very close when killing villagers.

5. Check for conflicts: Other mods affecting villager behavior or item drops may interfere. Test in a simpler modpack if possible.

6. Review mod settings: Some mods include configuration files that adjust drop rates or enable/disable features.
