How to Stop Accidentally Dropping Items Into Lava or the Void

The whole point of Drop Confirm Mod is to catch the drop before it becomes a loss. Here is how to make sure it is actually protecting you.

Confirm the Protection Is Active

Open the mod config and check that the confirmation dialog is enabled. Then verify the specific protections: there should be options covering drops into lava and drops into the void. Leave these on. With them active, pressing your drop key while looking at lava or over a void gap will bring up the confirmation instead of releasing the item.

What the Dialog Looks Like

When triggered, a prompt appears asking you to confirm or cancel the drop. Cancel keeps the item in your inventory. Confirm releases it. Read the prompt rather than mashing the key, since the dialog exists precisely to give you that pause.

Practical Habits

• Do not hold your drop key down while walking near lava; each press can queue a prompt.
• When bridging over the void, keep valuable items out of your hotbar so a misclick cannot even target them.
• If you play with others, enable the player-drop protection too, so you cannot hand a stack to someone by mistake.

Test it once in a safe spot by dropping a junk item near lava to confirm the prompt fires before you trust it with real gear.
