How to Configure Drop Confirm Mod for Multiplayer and Servers

On a server, accidental drops are worse than in singleplayer because other players can pick your items up instantly. Drop Confirm Mod has settings aimed at exactly this.

Protecting Drops Near Other Players

Open the config and find the option that adds a confirmation when dropping items near or toward other players. Enable it. Now, when you press drop while another player is close enough to grab the item, the dialog appears first. This stops the classic mistake of tossing a stack of valuables to a friend when you meant to keep it.

Server vs Client Settings

Some options in this mod are client-side (they only affect your own prompts) and some may be controlled by the server. If a setting you change does not seem to take effect on a particular server, that server likely enforces its own value. Check with the server owner or test the same setting in a singleplayer world to see whether the behavior differs.

Recommended Server Setup

• Keep lava and void protection on at all times.
• Keep player-drop protection on in PvP or trading-heavy servers.
• Only disable the general ground-drop confirmation if the prompts are slowing you down during building or farming.

After changing anything, drop a cheap item near a teammate to confirm the prompt appears before relying on it during a real trade.
