How to Make Water Drips Play the Old Sound Instead of Dripstone Sounds

By default the Drip Sounds mod plays the newer Dripstone-style water pop when a droplet lands. If you prefer the classic, softer drip sound from older versions, you can switch it back in the config.

Finding the Sound Option

Open the mod's config file. Depending on your loader this lives in the config folder of your instance, usually named after the mod. Open it with any text editor. Look for the entry that controls which sound set is used for water drips — it is typically a boolean or a list-style option labelled something like "use dripstone sounds" or a sound-type selector.

Switching the Sound

Set the option so that the mod uses the legacy/older sound instead of the Dripstone one. Save the file. If your game is already running, either restart it or use the mod's in-game config screen (if your mod loader provides one) to apply the change live. Once applied, stand under a dripping water block and confirm the landing sound changed. If nothing changes, double-check you edited the correct config and that no other mod is overriding drip sounds.

Notes

Lava drips use their own hiss/sizzle sound and are controlled separately, so changing the water sound will not affect lava.
