Disable or Reduce Color Desaturation for Specific Biomes
Understand Color Grading
DreadShade applies a bleak color filter across your entire world, draining saturation and shifting hues toward gray and cold tones. Some players want to preserve color in specific areas.
Check Shader Configuration Options
Open DreadShade's settings and look for color grading, saturation, or color temperature controls. Not all shader packs allow per-biome customization, but global adjustments are usually available.
Increase Saturation Slightly
If your shader supports a saturation slider, increase it moderately. This will restore some color to blocks while maintaining the dark, eerie mood. The bleak effect will still be present but less oppressive.
Adjust Color Temperature
If available, warming the color temperature slightly can make the world feel less lifeless while keeping the horror aesthetic. Experiment with small changes to avoid losing the shader's intended effect.
Test Across Environments
Visit different biomes—forests, deserts, oceans—to see how adjustments affect each. Some areas may benefit more from color restoration than others. Save a configuration you're happy with and note the settings for future reference.
