Adjust Fog Density to Improve Visibility
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the designated shader settings key (typically found in your controls menu). Look for DreadShade in your active shader list.
Modify Fog Parameters
Locate the fog density or fog distance slider. DreadShade's creeping fog can be overwhelming in tight spaces or when mining. Reducing the fog density value will push the fog further away, allowing you to see more of your surroundings without completely removing the atmospheric effect.
Fine-Tune for Your Playstyle
If you're doing detailed building work, lower the fog density moderately. For exploration or survival mode, keeping it higher maintains the horror atmosphere while still being playable. Test different values and take note of what feels right—you can always adjust again.
Apply and Test
Save your changes and move around your world. Walk into caves, open areas, and enclosed spaces to see how the fog behaves at different densities. The goal is finding a balance between the mod's intended scary aesthetic and your ability to navigate and build effectively.
