Doruk’s Plus Shaders FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn on the shader after installing it?
Open Options > Video Settings > Shaders, then locate Doruk's Plus Shaders in your shader folder and select it. The shader will activate immediately; you may see a brief loading screen as it compiles.
Why do my shadows look blocky or pixelated?
Shadow resolution is likely set too low. Open the shader settings (usually by pressing a key like Right Shift or through the shader menu), find the shadow quality or shadow map resolution option, and increase it to smooth out the blocky appearance.
Can I turn off reflections if they're causing lag?
Yes. Access the shader options menu and look for reflection or water reflection settings, then disable or reduce the reflection quality. This is one of the fastest ways to improve performance on low-end hardware.
My FPS drops a lot when I enable this shader. What should I do?
Try lowering shadow distance first, then reduce shadow quality and reflection quality in the shader settings. If still laggy, lower your render distance in Video Settings or disable advanced lighting options in the shader menu.
Does this shader work with resource packs?
Yes, Doruk's Plus Shaders is compatible with most resource packs. If you notice visual conflicts, try disabling custom colors or PBR textures in your resource pack settings, as some features may not play well together.
Why are caves and underground areas still very dark?
The shader respects low light levels underground. You can improve visibility by enabling the ambient lighting or cave lighting option in the shader settings, or by placing torches and light sources as you normally would.
Can I use this shader with Optifine?
Doruk's Plus Shaders is built on Mellow and works with modern shader loaders. Check compatibility with your specific loader version, as some older Optifine versions may have conflicts with newer shader features.
How do I adjust how far shadows render?
Open the shader options and find the shadow distance setting. Increasing it makes shadows visible farther away but uses more performance; decreasing it improves FPS but shadows disappear closer to the player.
Is there a way to make water reflections less intense?
Yes. In the shader settings, look for reflection intensity, reflection strength, or water reflection options and lower the value. You can also disable reflections entirely if performance is critical.
Why does my game look washed out or too bright after enabling the shader?
The shader's lighting adjustments may not match your monitor's brightness. Try adjusting the brightness or exposure setting in the shader options menu, or check your monitor's contrast and gamma settings.
