Prevent Specific Villagers from Closing Doors
Understanding Villager Door Behavior
By default, all villagers in your world will close doors after opening them. However, you may want certain villagers—such as those in farms or trading halls—to keep doors open for access.
Controlling Door Closure
The mod applies its door-closing behavior to all villagers universally. If you need to prevent specific villagers from closing doors, consider these approaches:
- Separate your villagers: Keep villagers that need open doors in a different area away from your main base. This way, only the villagers in your living space will trigger the door-closing mechanic.
- Use alternative barriers: Replace standard doors with fence gates, trapdoors, or pressure plate systems in areas where you want villagers to move freely without closing doors behind them.
- Design around the mechanic: Create dedicated pathways using non-door blocks for villager movement, reserving doors only for areas where you want them closed.
This approach lets you maintain the benefits of the mod—keeping your base tidy—while accommodating villagers that need unrestricted movement for their function.
