How to Navigate the Seven Sections of a Randomized Monument
Understanding the Layout System
Every monument is divided into seven sections, and each section rolls one of four possible layouts. Within those layouts, individual rooms pick from several variants with randomized walls, floors, and loot. This means you cannot memorize a single path — you have to read each section as you enter it.
Route-Finding Tips
1. Enter through the main opening and identify the section you are in by its wall and door style; the mod uses multiple wall and door types to visually separate areas.
2. Look for connecting corridors between sections rather than trying to break through walls — the jigsaw connections are the intended path.
3. Drop torches or place distinctive blocks at junctions so you can backtrack without re-clearing rooms.
4. Expect dead ends; some room variants are self-contained and only hold loot, not exits.
5. Keep an eye out for treasure rooms — every section is guaranteed to contain at least one, so if you have cleared a section without finding treasure, you missed a branch.
What to Carry
Bring plenty of torches, a good pickaxe for prismarine if you want to mine, and combat gear. The randomized layouts mean Guardians can appear from unexpected angles, so never assume a room is safe just because it looks empty.
