Where the Guaranteed Trident Comes From

The top Elder Guardian Chamber in the overhauled monument guarantees a Trident drop, but it spawns with reduced durability — roughly half to most of its durability remaining. This is the most reliable way to obtain a Trident without farming drowned, so it is worth prioritizing.

Reaching and Clearing the Chamber

1. Work your way upward through the monument's sections rather than trying to tunnel straight to the top; the jigsaw layout means the vertical route is not always direct.

2. Prepare for the Elder Guardian's Mining Fatigue effect — bring Milk Buckets to clear it, or plan to fight without mining.

3. Deal with the two lesser treasure rooms attached to the chamber first; they often contain useful gear and give you a safe staging point.

4. Defeat or evade the Elder Guardian, then locate the greater treasure room where the Trident is held.

5. Collect the Trident and check its durability bar before relying on it in combat — you may want to repair it with mending or an anvil.
