How Gold Trimmed Armor Protects You From Piglins

Using Gold Trims to Avoid Piglin Aggression

In vanilla Minecraft, Piglins ignore you only while you wear a piece of golden armor, which forces you to give up the stronger protection of Netherite. The Distracting Trims Mod removes that trade-off by extending the distraction mechanic to trimmed armor.

With this mod installed, any armor piece carrying a golden trim counts as a piglin distraction. You can keep your preferred armor material and its full protection, then apply a gold trim at a smithing table to gain the same safety.

As long as at least one worn armor piece has a gold trim, Piglins will not attack you on sight. This lets you move through the Nether, mine, and trade without swapping to weaker gear. The mod only changes how Piglins react to trimmed armor; it does not alter trims, smithing, or armor stats in any other way.
