Create a New Custom Dimension from a Preset
Using add_dimension
The fastest way to add a new world to your server is to base it on an existing preset. This command creates a fresh dimension with pre-configured generation settings.
Steps
1. Open the chat and type /dims add_dimension <newDimensionId> <preset>
2. Replace <newDimensionId> with a unique name for your dimension (e.g., custom_world_1)
3. Replace <preset> with an available preset name (common presets include minecraft:overworld, minecraft:nether, minecraft:end, or custom presets your server has defined)
4. Press Enter to execute the command
5. The new dimension will load immediately and appear in the world list for all connected players with the mod installed
6. Players can now navigate to and play in the new dimension
Tips
- Preset names are case-sensitive
- If the command fails, verify the preset exists using
/dims view_dim_configon an existing dimension to see valid format - The new dimension starts with empty chunks; terrain generates as players explore
