2. Keep lights portable — Carry your light source rather than placing it permanently. This lets you control when and where light appears.

3. Light only when necessary — Turn off or lower your light in open hallways. Increase brightness only in confusing areas where you need clear vision.

4. Avoid lighting entire rooms — Focus light on your immediate path and potential hiding spots. Leave distant corners dark.
