Adjust Water Reflection Quality and Distance
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the designated shader menu key (usually accessed through your graphics settings or mod menu). Look for the Reflection or Water Quality section.
Configure Reflection Range
Locate the setting that controls how far reflections render from your position. Lowering this value improves performance on weaker systems, while increasing it extends reflections across larger bodies of water. This is especially useful if you're exploring vast oceans or using long-distance rendering mods.
Fine-Tune Surface Detail
Find the Screen Space Reflection intensity slider. Higher values create sharper, more detailed reflections but demand more GPU power. Lower values reduce visual noise while maintaining the core water realism.
Test Your Changes
Move to a large lake or ocean and observe how reflections behave at different distances. Adjust incrementally until you find the balance between visual quality and performance that suits your system. Pay attention to reflection stability as you walk—flickering indicates settings that are too demanding.
