Restore the Classic Chest and Block Appearance
What Changes
The Default Beta Resource Pack converts several blocks back to their Beta-era look. Chests become full solid blocks instead of the hinged lid design, and glass panes return to their thicker, more prominent 3D appearance similar to iron bars.
Blocks Affected
- Chests: Display as complete blocks without the visible lid mechanism
- Glass Panes: Render with the old thicker cross-pattern, matching iron bars visually
- Iron Bars: Keep their classic 3D grid design
- Doors: Acacia and jungle doors use their old 3D snapshot versions from development builds
- Beds: Red beds appear as flat 2D items in your inventory
- Mob Heads and Skulls: Display as flat 2D sprites when held or in inventory
How to See These Changes
Simply place or interact with these blocks in your world. The changes apply immediately. When you open your inventory, flat items like beds and skulls will appear noticeably different from their 3D counterparts. This gives your builds an unmistakable retro aesthetic that matches early Minecraft's visual style.
