Do I need to find a specific Ancient City or can any one work?
Any Ancient City in the Overworld will have the Deeper Dark portal in its center. The portal appears the same way regardless of which Ancient City you locate.
What happens if I die in the Deeper Dark?
You'll respawn at your spawn point (or bed if set), and your items will drop at your death location in the Deeper Dark. You'll need to return with proper preparation to retrieve them.
Can I use a nether portal or end portal to escape instead of finding another Ancient City?
No, you must find an Ancient City within the Deeper Dark dimension itself to create a portal back to the Overworld. Nether and End portals do not function as exits.
Is the Warden the only mob that spawns in the Deeper Dark?
Yes, the Warden is the only hostile mob that can spawn in the Deeper Dark, making it safer for resource gathering than most other dimensions.
What do I do if I can't find an Ancient City in the Deeper Dark?
Ancient Cities in the Deeper Dark are rare but guaranteed to exist; explore systematically and check your coordinates to avoid retracing steps. Consider using the same strategies you'd use to find Overworld Ancient Cities, such as traveling along the same vertical level.
Can I bring the Warden back to the Overworld?
The Warden is bound to the Deeper Dark dimension and cannot cross through the portal to the Overworld.
Do sculk blocks drop normally when I mine them in the Deeper Dark?
Sculk blocks follow standard Minecraft drop mechanics; use the appropriate tools to harvest them efficiently, just as you would in the Overworld.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
Performance depends on your system and other mods installed. The Deeper Dark is a new dimension that loads like any other, so it shouldn't cause unusual lag if your game runs smoothly elsewhere.
Do I need multiple Echo Shards to enter and exit, or just one?
You only need to hold an Echo Shard when approaching the portal; you don't consume it, so one Echo Shard can be used for multiple trips.
Can I build structures or place blocks in the Deeper Dark?
