Survive the First Encounter with Hollow Steve
Prepare Before Day 3
Hollow Steve begins stalking on Day 3 by default. Use the first two days to gather resources and establish a safe base. Stock up on food, craft beds, and gather wood for quick shelter repairs. Create a well-lit area around your base—Hollow Steve avoids bright spaces initially.
Recognize Early Warning Signs
Listen for distant footsteps, whispers, and unusual darkness effects. These indicate Hollow Steve is watching but not yet attacking. Avoid sprinting, breaking blocks, or using items unnecessarily, as these sounds attract attention. Stay in lit areas and avoid traveling alone if possible.
When the Hunt Begins
Once active pursuit starts, do not run toward your base—you'll lead the threat to your supplies. Instead, move toward open terrain with good visibility. Keep distance and avoid corners. If cornered, use a Totem of Undying if you have one, or prepare to respawn.
Gather Intelligence
Observe Hollow Steve's movement patterns during early phases. It cannot open doors or break blocks in early phases, so sealed rooms offer temporary refuge. Use this time to craft better weapons and armor for the inevitable confrontation.
