Set Up Custom Death Sounds from Your Own Audio Files

Prepare Your Audio Files

Before adding custom sounds, convert or source your audio in .ogg format. This is the only format the mod recognizes. If you have .mp3 or .wav files, use a free audio converter to change them to .ogg.

Rename your files using lowercase letters only. For example, use death_scream.ogg instead of Death_Scream.ogg. This prevents compatibility issues, especially on newer game versions.

Add Files to the Mod Folder

1. Open the Death Sound Mod menu in-game

2. Click the Open Sound Folder button — this launches your file explorer directly to the correct location

3. Drag and drop your .ogg files into this folder

4. Return to the game and refresh the menu (or restart your game)

5. Your new sound should now appear in the selection list

Activate Your Sound

Select your custom audio file from the menu to set it as your active death warning. Test it by having another player die nearby, or use creative mode to verify the sound plays correctly.
