Triggering Messages Deliberately

Death Knell messages fire from specific death causes, so the fastest way to collect them is to recreate each cause on purpose in a test world with cheats enabled. Set /gamerule keepInventory true first so you do not lose your gear while experimenting. Then work through the obvious categories: drowning, falling, lava, fire, cactus, suffocation inside a block, starvation, void death, and being killed by each mob type you can spawn. Many messages are variations on vanilla causes, so dying the same way repeatedly can surface different lines.

Using the Killer Relationship

Several messages depend on *who* killed you, not just how. Have a second player (or a tamed wolf, or a named mob) land the killing blow and compare the output to dying to the same damage source alone. Messages that mention a killer by name only appear when another entity is credited with the kill, so solo deaths will never show them.
