DarkMining Mod: How Bonus Drops Work

Extra Drops While Mining

DarkMining Mod adds bonus drops to ordinary mining. It does not change every block you break — the effect only triggers on standard and deepslate terrain and mineral blocks, plus dirt, grass, regular and red sand, netherrack, and end stone.

When you break one of these blocks, you always keep the normal vanilla drop. On top of that, you have a chance to receive an additional item. The extra reward is not guaranteed, so most blocks give nothing beyond the usual drop.

Possible bonus items include gold nuggets, potatoes, carrots, diamonds, iron ingots, lapis lazuli, emeralds, glass bottles, iron buckets, wooden sticks, golden apples, mushrooms, glass, Ghast tears, iron bars, and ladders. Rarer rewards such as diamonds, emeralds, golden apples, and Ghast tears appear less often than common ones like sticks or potatoes.

Because the mechanic is tied to block types, mining in the Overworld, Nether, or End works, while breaking crafted blocks or ores outside the listed categories does not.
