Using DarkMenu Alongside Other Mods Without Breaking the Menu

DarkMenu is a cosmetic menu overhaul, so it plays badly with anything else that touches the main menu, options screen, or fonts. Here is how to keep it stable.

Know what it overrides

DarkMenu changes four things: the main menu background, the options background, button text styling, and the death screen. Any other mod doing one of those four will conflict. Mods that only add buttons (like a mod-list button) usually coexist fine, because they add rather than replace.

Ordering your mods and packs

For resource packs, the pack listed higher wins. Put DarkMenu's assets below any pack you want to take priority. For mods, the one loaded later generally overrides textures, so if another menu mod is winning and you want DarkMenu's look, move DarkMenu later in the load order.

Testing safely

Create a fresh test world before committing to a modpack change. Load into the main menu, open options, and die once in the test world. That covers all four overridden screens in under a minute.

If the menu fails to load

A blank or frozen main menu after adding DarkMenu usually means a hard conflict with another menu mod. Remove mods one at a time, starting with any that also restyle the main menu, until the menu renders again.
