How to Escape a Trap or Stuck Situation Using /trigger darkdeath

When to Use It

If you are wedged inside blocks, stuck in a broken chunk, trapped in a pit you cannot climb, or caught in a death loop you cannot break, /trigger darkdeath is your emergency exit. It kills your character instantly regardless of health, armor, or location, so it works even when nothing else does.

Step-by-Step

1. Open chat and type /trigger darkdeath.

2. Press Enter. Your character dies immediately.

4. You will appear at your spawn point (bed, respawn anchor, or world spawn).

Before You Pull the Trigger

• Empty your inventory into a chest first if you have a safe spot to do so, because everything you carry is dropped at the death location.
• Note your coordinates before dying so you can walk back and collect your drops.
• If you are on a server, check whether keepInventory is enabled; if it is, you keep your items and the command is essentially free.
• Do not use it while standing in lava or the Void unless you accept losing your items permanently.

After Respawn

Head back to your death coordinates to recover your gear. Bring spare armor and food in case mobs are guarding the drop site.
