How to Make Your Customizable Player Model's Mouth Move When You Talk

What this mod actually does

This compatibility mod does not add a new animation editor. Instead, it listens to Simple Voice Chat and feeds your live microphone volume into Customizable Player Models, so any animation you have already built can react to your voice. That means the mouth movement you see is whatever animation you assigned — the mod only supplies the "how loud am I talking right now" signal.

Steps to get talking animations working

1. Make sure both Customizable Player Models and Simple Voice Chat are installed and working on their own before you troubleshoot this compat mod. If your model does not load, or voice chat does not connect, fix that first.

2. Open your model in the Customizable Player Models editor and create or select the animation you want to drive with your voice — typically a jaw or mouth part that opens and closes.

3. Bind that animation to the voice/speaking value the compat mod exposes, rather than to a keybind or a manual toggle. The value scales with your microphone input, so quiet speech produces a small movement and loud speech produces a larger one.

4. Save the model and re-enter the world so the animation reloads.

5. Join a voice chat channel and speak. Watch your own model in third person (or have a friend confirm) to check the jaw responds.

If nothing moves, the usual culprits are: the animation is bound to the wrong value, the model was not re-saved, or voice chat is using push-to-talk and you were not transmitting.
