Create Your First Portal Between Two Bases

Building the Portal Frame

Start by choosing a block type for your frame—this can be any solid block like stone, obsidian, or wood. Build two identical portal frames at your two bases. The frames can be any shape: rectangular, circular, or irregular. The only requirement is that both frames use the same block type and have the same shape.

Activating with Dye

Once both frames are built, you'll need dye to activate them. Gather dye in your chosen color—this will be your portal's unique identifier. Hold the dye and interact with one of the portal frames. The frame will activate and link to any other frame with matching shape and color.

Testing Your Portal

Walk through the activated portal at your first base. You should be teleported to the matching portal at your second base. If the portal doesn't work, double-check that both frames are identical in shape and that you used the same dye color on both.

You can create multiple portals using different block types and dye colors to connect many locations.
