Configure Block Depth and PBR Materials
Understanding Block Depth
Block depth uses PBR (Physically Based Rendering) materials to add bumps, grooves, and realistic surface details to standard Minecraft blocks. This makes stone look weathered, wood show grain, and metal appear polished.
Adjusting PBR Settings
1. Open shader options (usually Right Shift)
2. Find the Materials, PBR, or Parallax section
3. Enable Parallax Mapping or Normal Mapping if not already active
4. Adjust the Parallax Depth or Normal Strength slider to control how pronounced the bumps appear
5. Higher values create more dramatic 3D effects; lower values are more subtle
Texture Upscaling
The shader automatically upscales your texture pack for sharper detail. If blocks appear too bumpy or unrealistic:
- Reduce the parallax depth slider
- Ensure your texture pack resolution matches the shader's expectations
- Test with different texture packs—some work better with PBR than others
Block depth is purely visual and doesn't affect gameplay, collision, or building mechanics.
