Adjust Volumetric Fog and Sky Lighting
Understanding Volumetric Effects
Voletric fog scatters light through the air, creating a glowing sky and atmospheric depth. This makes sunlight appear to radiate through particles and dust, especially noticeable during sunrise, sunset, and in misty areas.
Configuring Fog Settings
1. Open shader options (Right Shift)
2. Go to Atmosphere, Fog, or Lighting section
3. Find Volumetric Fog Density or Air Scattering slider
4. Increase density for more visible light rays and atmospheric glow
5. Decrease for clearer, less hazy visibility
Sky and Ambient Light
- Adjust Sky Brightness to control overall ambient lighting
- Modify Fog Color to match your preferred atmosphere (cooler for caves, warmer for sunsets)
- Use Ambient Light Strength to brighten dark areas without affecting direct sunlight
Finding Your Balance
High volumetric fog creates beautiful, cinematic visuals but can reduce visibility and frame rate. Start with moderate settings and adjust based on your preference and performance. Volumetric effects are most dramatic during golden hour (sunrise/sunset) and in enclosed spaces where light naturally scatters.
